Waterside Half Marathon Friends & Family Challenge.

On April 14th 2017 we sadly lost our baby boy Arlo at 1 day old from an undiagnosed genetic condition. Whilst we are blessed with 3 other healthy, happy children, life will never be the same again. In the immediate aftermath of Arlo's death the charity Sands was an invaluable support enabling us to make memories, helping us with the logistics of planning a funeral and offering grief counselling. Each year since, we have attempted to fundraise for Sands and other good causes in honour of Arlo.

This year my brother Noel will be running the Dublin marathon in memory of his grandchild Baby Patterson as well as our little man. Keen to support this challenge I have decided to run with Noel in the Waterside Half Marathon alongside my husband Jonny and brothers Eoghan and Kevin.

We have been touched by the support of our family and friends in our toughest times and saddened to hear stories of other little ones gone too soon. We are honoured that 12 other friends and family will be joining us as relay teams on the day to help us remember Baby Patterson and Arlo as well as their own precious babies and those of their other family members and friends.

We will be raising funds to split equally between Sands and Unicef and would be grateful for any donation big or small or simply for our page to be shared on your social media and group chats. The countdown to Sept 1st begins!
