Clean Water for Slums in E. Africa

Hello! My name is Dennis-Michael Broussard, a guy who just wants to help make a difference in the world. My friend, Raj Rajasingh, and I need your help in raising $2,000 by March 1, 2017, to buy 50 water filters to distribute in the slums in Nairobi, Kenya, and in Emboret, a small town in northern Tanzania.
I am leaving for east Africa in the beginning of March and I would like to bring 50 of these super heavy duty water filters to slums and villages that do not have access to clean drinking water. I will be assisted by Divine Word Missionaries on the ground, who provide humanitarian services in the most distressed and neglected corners of our world.
So why water?
Because 1.8 million children die every year as a result of diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation. This amounts to around 4,000 child deaths each day. One child dies every 20 seconds. (Source UNDP ) And because water-related diseases caused by unsafe drinking water and inadequate sanitation remain humanity’s most serious public health threat, causing 80% of sicknesses in developing countries. (Source WHO)
The water filters I want to bring are made by Filter of Hope , and can clean up to 150 gallons of water a day, every day, for 10 YEARS! Watch the video below for more details and how the filters work.
Not one penny goes to my transportation, food, or accommodation expenses, as 100% of everyone's donation (minus the gofundme fees) will go to the purchase of a water filter.
I would never have been able to my past humanitarian trips without help from generous and awesome folks like you, so I hope you will be just as generous in helping me bring life-saving water filters that will make a difference in the lives of people in east Africa!
