Hi my name is Gareth, recently one of my colleagues had his world tipped upside down when his partner (also a colleague), her young daughter and 3 others were travelling in a car which was hit head on by mini bus travelling on then wrong side of the road.
As you can see from the picture this caused considerable damage to the car and left the occupants requiring the fire brigade to cut them out. To make matters worse this has all happened whilst they were away, having just competed at a world taekwondo competition in Austria.
All 5 people in the car have been hospitalised with serious injuries. Thankfully they are all now stable but could potentially be hospitalised over there for a while as the recovery time for each of them will not be quick! Whilst everyone is being treated, understandably, my colleague isn’t wanting to leave their sides. However, he is not able to stay overnight in the hospital so is paying to stay nearby in a hotel.
The goal of this is just to try and help out a little towards the costs of staying over until they are able to get back to the UK and continue their recovery. This will hopefully alleviate a little of the stress that they are under and enable the family to all remain together at this awful time.
The article regarding the crash can be found here: https://tirol.orf.at/stories/3309631/ it isn’t in English but most browsers can translate it for you.
Finally thank you for taking your time to have a read and look forward to being able to share any support with Rich, Rach and Nyah.
