Since there was so much support for our Valencia–Karlsruhe bikepacking tour, we wanted to direct that energy toward an issue that became very real to us during those 13 days on the road.

Every single day, we were riding in over 30°C heat. We had to stay hydrated, brush our teeth, clean dishes, and sometimes even wash ourselves with very limited access to water, because we weren’t able to carry a lot.

But this experience reminded us how fragile access to clean water can be — and how much we take it for granted.
