Over the past two years we have been working hard transforming a huge abandoned property in Northern Spain into an oasis for people to come and connect with nature, themselves and inspiring people.
We have recently restored the old farmhouse and now we can host groups interested in ecological restoration, permaculture and bioconstruction as well as wellness, personal development and community enrichment activities.
Climate change has hit this region hard so wise water management is the key to our project. We have already created a natural pool as part of our permaculture design and now we are ready to scale our project so we can make a real impact.
The next chapter of our ecological regeneration initiative is to restore an abandoned water deposit, and develop a food forest with 30 fruit trees and expanding the permaculture gardens. We will incorporate gathering and learning spaces in the design for group activities. And we will also develop the grey water recycling system and wetland habitat.
We would like to raise €5000 to undertake this project, which will cover the cost of the materials (liners, sealers, tubes, fittings, trees, bushes, manure and compost). It will also cover the basic needs of our hungry volunteers. If we receive more than €5000 we will keep on restoring more habitat, planting more trees and keep developing this sanctuary that hopefully you can come and experience.
We are trying to cultivate the kind of world we want to live in where people take care of each other and nature. Living in such a way is such a meaningful source of joy it is impossible to put into words, but it is surely the solution to many of the woes facing the world today.
We are in the midst of setting up a Non Profit Association but we don't know how long that will take so for now Moss (the owner of the property) will receive the funds as he will be in charge of this project.
We are very grateful for any financial support you can offer us. This project has been a co-creation from the beginning and we look forward to inviting you into the family of La Buixeda.
