WATER IS LIFE: Bring Clean Water to Remote Nepal
Tax deductible
A Fundraising Campaign by Anastasia Abdallah for The Pradiya Foundation | Serving At-Risk Children, Families & the Future
One of Nepal’s Most Remote Villages. No Roads. No Electricity. No Healthcare System. No Clean Water.
In the steep hills of western Nepal lies a village completely isolated from basic services. The nearest town is a two-hour drive and a three-hour uphill walk away, all on foot.
There is:
No road access
No electricity
No healthcare system
No flushing toilets or sanitation systems
No clean drinking water
Yet, more than 150 at-risk children spend their days here learning and growing, walking miles daily to attend Pradiya International School, while drinking contaminated water every day. It’s not just unsafe — it’s deadly.
Who This Project Supports
- Pradiya International School
Serves 124 at-risk children who walk miles daily to attend school
Children include those with disabilities, children from the Dalit community (historically marginalized as low caste or “untouchables”), and many from vulnerable or displaced families
The school provides education and meals — but has no safe drinking water
- Pradiya Children’s Home
A residential facility caring for 27 orphaned or displaced children
Staff and children rely on unsafe water sources, risking illness daily
- Surrounding Community
Hundreds of people suffer from waterborne diseases
Without sanitation or a healthcare system, infections spread rapidly
Children often miss school due to illness — some do not survive
This is a public health crisis that disproportionately impacts the most marginalized and vulnerable populations.
The Solution: A Sustainable Clean Water System
Pradiya Foundation is ready to build a community-powered, gravity-fed water system to bring safe, clean drinking water to hundreds of people, including all the children at the school and children’s home.
Constructed with locally sourced labor
Materials carried entirely by hand — no vehicles or machines can reach the village
Designed for long-term sustainability and health
Total Project Cost: $23,000
Where Your Support Goes
1. Water Filtration System
Removes harmful bacteria and contaminants
Provides safe water access for children and families
2. Water Tank Construction
Built by hand using local labor
All materials manually transported, including:
20 bundles of 12mm rebar
20 bundles of 10mm rebar
10 bundles of 8mm rebar
100 kg of binding wire
400 bags of OPC 43-grade cement
40 chatta of stones (carried on foot)
3. Labor, Transport & Plumbing
All construction done without machinery
Laborers will carry every item through steep, difficult terrain
Creates local jobs and strengthens community ownership
The Impact: Health, Safety & Dignity
150+ at-risk children, including those with disabilities and from marginalized communities like Dalits, gain safe drinking water at school and home
Hundreds of people are protected from deadly waterborne illnesses
Girls and children with disabilities can stay in school, instead of walking long distances for water or missing school due to illness
Foundation laid for future health, sanitation, and community growth
This is more than a water system — it’s life-saving infrastructure that supports inclusion, dignity, and equity for generations to come.

A Message from Pradiya Foundation
“We’ve seen children grow weak from the water they drink — and some never recover. This isn’t just about clean water. It’s about survival, dignity, and giving our children a chance to grow. We are ready to carry every pipe and every stone by hand. We just need the support to start.”
— The Pradiya Foundation Team
Water is not a luxury — it is a human right.
This project is about protecting the most vulnerable with the most basic need: clean water.
Let’s bring it to them — together.
