Water for Palestine: Donate now!

Asia Pacific Greens Federation is reaching out on behalf of the Palestinian Greens
Palestinians are denied human rights and basic resources under Israel’s illegal military occupation. After nearly six hundred days of genocide, bombardment and displacement targeting civilians, most of whom are women and children, journalists and doctors, Israel is again preventing the delivery of water, food and aid into Gaza. These war crimes aim to eliminate the indigenous Palestinians from their homeland.
As the humanitarian crisis continues, the Asia Pacific Greens Federation (APGF) members have been in regular communication with the Palestinian Greens; and we are highly committed to supporting them as best we can. We are asking You - our members, friends and communities to donate, so that the Palestinian Greens and their communities can have access to safe clean water and other essential goods.
The United Nations estimate that the average Gazan is living on only 3 litres of water per day for all needs - the UN emergency standard is 15 litres. About 70% of Gazans now drink salty and contaminated water from unclean wells. UNICEF reports that during protracted conflicts, children under five are twenty times more likely to die from diseases linked to unsafe water and sanitation than from violence.
Your donation today can make an immediate impact - with your help we will send funds to the Palestinian Greens to purchase units and desalination tanks for their families and communities to access safe water, food, hygiene items, medical supplies, and other urgent basic daily needs.
“Our People struggled to access adequate safe water even before the current crisis. About 90% of Gaza's water supply comes from the Coastal Aquifer Basin that runs along the eastern Mediterranean coast. But now, we don’t even have access to that source. Our People need help,” says an APGF Leader. Another Leader added, “that water is brackish, contaminated with seawater, sewage and chemicals. Our Families in Gaza rely on small units and unregulated tankers – and those cost a lot – and our APGF Greens in-country need our help urgently!”
The APGF Council and partner groups agree, “The water system breakdown is increasing the public health disaster happening to the people. They have been telling us of increasing common diseases – liver and kidney diseases, hepatitis, and other health risks. We have to do something more than we’ve done before!”
APGF calls on you, our Asia Pacific Greens and Global Greens Communities to act now and donate to the #SupportPalestinianGreens fund. Every dollar counts, please #SupportPalestinianGreens now!
