Wish Them Well is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to clean water to villages in Togo, Africa. We believe that every person deserves access to this basic human right, but unfortunately, millions of people around the world are still without access to clean water. Our concentration is the people of Togo where there are hundreds of villages on our waiting list for clean water. You can make a difference by donating today to Wish Them Well.

Kangounou Filassou, a village of 710 people, located in Northern Togo, has come to the attention of our team in Togo because of their desperate need for clean water.

This village's population consists of 116 children under 5 years old (the most at-risk group for water-borne disease); 207 children between ages 5 and 14. The rest of the villagers are adults; the women of the village walk approximately 6.2 miles to access water each day and carry that water back to the village. And even after all that work, the water they find is filled with containments. They are forced to make the unimaginable choice of risking giving this filthy water to their children (over 50% die from waterborne illness before the age of 5) or allowing them to die from the painful effects of dehydration.

Building a well is not a simple task, and it requires a lot of resources. It involves drilling, casing, and installation of a pumping system. But we believe we can deliver a well to Kangounou Filassou with your help. We've done it before for more than 45 other villages.

The benefits that the villagers enjoy from a new well are truly life-changing; in addition to the obvious health and sanitation impacts, the women are freed to care for their families and/or work and children are freed to attend school.
