Water for Giza's Working Horses: Your Donation Saves Lives
Donation protected
*UPDATE* Thank you all for your incredibly generous donations! We are thrilled to share that we have received additional funds from Orascom and the Ministry, so we are now closing further requests for donations. *
We're excited to share that, for the first time in 28 years, working horses at the Giza Pyramids finally have access to water inside the complex! Thanks to the relentless efforts of Orascom, Good Karma Sanctuary and Ride Egypt, the first two water stations are now up and running, bringing much-needed relief to these hard-working animals who endure long days under the scorching Egyptian sun.
A special thanks also goes to Orascom Construction, who is leading the initiative by providing water trucks and coordinating the operations of the stations. Good Karma Sanctuary and Ride Egypt are proud to support Orascom's plans for future projects aimed at increasing the welfare of working animals in Giza.
We also want to express our deep gratitude to everyone who has already started sending donations via PayPal. Your generosity and quick support are making an immediate impact. To make sharing and fundraising easier, we've now set up this GoFundMe page. This link allows us to reach more people and continue building on the excitement we shared in our posts on social media.
This initiative marks a major shift in the lives of these animals, but it’s an uphill battle. We've faced some resistance from authorities concerned about potential mess. But with your support, we can show them that these stations are lifelines, not liabilities.
By donating, you're directly contributing to a better life for these horses. Let's work together to create lasting change, and hopefully, one day, these animals won’t have to work under such harsh conditions again.
Please join us in making a difference—one water station at a time. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal.
Follow @Ride_Egypt and @GoodKarmaSanctuary for regular updates. Thank you for your generosity and compassion!
