Hello dear friends and supporters,
We are Nino and Brigita, and five years ago we started our small organic farm in the heart of Sicily, Italy. This land—full of olive trees planted by Nino’s father—is our little piece of heaven. It's more than just a farm to us: it’s a way of life, rooted in the values passed down by our grandparents who entrusted us with this land.
Farming is never easy, but we’ve poured our hearts and souls into this project, and little by little, we’ve built something beautiful. Now, just as things are starting to flourish, we’re facing the greatest threat yet: no access to water.
When we began, we relied on water from a local reservoir—just like every farmer in our area has done for over 60 years. But with worsening droughts and political decisions redirecting water to nearby cities, our supply was suddenly cut off. Now, we’re forced to pay high costs to have water delivered by truck, and it’s not easy to even get it—especially in summer, when more people return to their countryside homes and water consumption across the area spikes.
To survive, we need to drill our own well.
It’s a huge investment for a small, two-person farm like ours—but we have no other choice if we want to continue growing food, caring for our land, and supporting our local community.
We’re asking for your help to bring the most precious gift to our farm: water.
Your support will help us cover the cost of drilling a deep well and installing the necessary equipment. It will give us a chance to keep going, to keep growing, and to keep offering healthy, honest food from the land we love so much.
We’re staying hopeful that the final cost will be lower—but for now, this is the most realistic estimate we’ve been able to put together.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for being part of our journey.
With gratitude,
Nino & Brigita
