Washington Playground Phase II

Yeah!  We have our new playground equipment!  

Thank you to the Ely Community for making our new playground a reality.

The students and faculty of Washington Elementary extend our sincere appreciation to all the donors and community volunteers whose support made this possible!

Washington Elementary is a K-5 school with a population of approximately 290 students.  Our students utilize our playground daily with recess and our PE classes.  

We are working on Phase II of our playground project.  This phase includes adding a Lunar Blast Net Climber, benches, garbage cans, and new basketball hoops. 

Fundraising - our projected goal for Phase II is $30,000. 

Our students will be busy fundraising again this year for Phase II with a Penny Challenge, Grapefruit Sale, and another Run for the Playground. 

Recess is a very important part of the day for students.  Research shows that recess has a positive impact not only on the development of students’ social skills, but also on achievement and learning in the classroom.
