Fatima Yahuza is a 15 year old Sophomore at Eximius College Preparatory Academy, a small Title I public high school in the South Bronx. She is very successful in her academics and constantly makes the Principal's Honor Roll List. In my class, she constantly contributes to classroom discussion by providing in-depth, thought provoking responses to questions. Her commitment to working hard at every task is very strong and something to be admired.
Fatima has earned a scholarship for half the tuition costs to attend the conference in D.C. in June and is fundraising for the remaining costs to attend.
About the Conference:
The Washington Youth Summit on the Environment is a conference for young leaders to learn about policy, activism, and environmental issues. The conference takes place at George Mason University in the D.C. area, where she will have the opportunity to stay on campus and attend workshops. She will also earn college credit for her participation.
This conference is an excellent opportunity for young leaders like Fatima, who have a love of science, learning, and the environment.
