Washington Post employee layoff fund

Donation protected
On Tuesday, Jan. 24, The Washington Post laid off 20 employees as well as some contractors. We are heartbroken for our colleagues, some of whom had been with the company for as long as 20 years.

Our greatest asset is our people, and our people show up for each other in times of crisis. So, we're asking for your help to raise funds to ease the transition for those affected.

This GoFundMe is being overseen by Washington Post Guild members, including Kelly Poe and Teddy Amenabar. If you are an affected employee and you are not already in contact with a Guild steward, contact Kelly, Teddy, Sarah Kaplan or Kathleen Floyd to opt-in to receiving funds. This help is open to you whether or not you are Guild eligible. Guild member Kelly Poe, in coordination with Washington Post Guild leadership, will receive the money and distribute to every laid-off individual who has opted in via Zelle. Individuals who work less than two days per week will receive a smaller amount than the full-time employees, but 100% will be transferred to the laid off individuals.

**Please do not post this fundraiser on social channels for now. We are attempting to keep this within the company and friends of the company.**
