Washington flood recovery

Washington State recently experienced high-tides and multiple atmospheric river events that have flooded and overwhelmed communities. The National Tribal Emergency Management Council, with the United States Volunteers Joint Services Command, Light House Gardens, and Farmer Frog, has established an Emergency Operations Center to respond to the flood recovery focusing first on the Snohomish area. Many community partners are stepping up, including ABW Enterprise LLC, Bill Edgar Photography, West Coast Nursery, to help families, farmers, and whole neighborhoods that have lost everything. Already we have helped with search and rescue operations, secured temporary housing for evacuees, food and supplies for animals, and much more. While we estimate the damages to cost millions of dollars, the local clean-up efforts need funding to help with immediate needs for households. Some are still stuck because of the high water.

On December 30th the United States Volunteers Joint Services Command 51st Brigadier Communications Team is flying from Illinois to support our operations in Snohomish County. The community has helped with lodging and food for 10-15 first responders that will stay and help in Washington. We need funding for supplies, sandbags, materials for emergency repairs, fuel and transportation, and other recovery related costs.

Please donate today so that we can continue to help Washingtonian families affected by the flood. If we reach our target goals, we can make sure our neighbors are warm and taken care of even after this devastating disaster.
