Hi, my name is Fiona and I am one of the head cadets from the East Herts Police cadets.
I am trying to raise money for a once in a lifetime trip to Washington DC in July 2025.
This trip will include a visit to the FBI Headquarters, meeting the american police cadets (Explorers) and many more experiences that I will not have the opportunity to experience again.
There are currently 6 spaces available, however, only 3 will be chosen from my cadet group.
Our aim as a group is to raise £10,000 to fund the 7 day trip.
To help raise the amount, I will be giving up my phone for 21 days!!! As you can imagine for a 15 year old this is a pretty big deal.
I got my inspiration for this idea from the BBC Documentary presented by Emma and Matt Willis; 'Swiped: The School That Banned Smartphones'. I found the outcomes of the experiment shocking and fascinating but also, it made me realise how much I rely on my phone myself.
I will be spending my 21 days checking in on my loved ones in person, and not relying on a 'liked' post on social media to do this. This will include my Grandad, who is having a knee replacement surgery on the 5th of March. He will need cheering up whilst he is in recovery, and i plan to be there in person for him!
I will be starting on the 1st of March until midnight on the 21st.
Any donations would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Fiona
