Hi,

My name is Kathy. I’ve been married 6 years and with my wife for a total of 16 years. My wife, Shannon has been suffering from Lyme disease. It is a very horrible disease and also includes co-infections. The problem is that Lyme disease is NOT covered by medical insurance. A typical Lyme doctor visit can be $1000.00 and that is not including lab work and medications; also NOT covered by insurance. It makes me angry to see my wife so sick that she stays in bed most of the week. We’ve always helped others. Now we are getting further into debt and managing this disease is going to make matters worse. I hate asking for help, but this is not fair. We can get one good day and the rest of the week, she spends in bed. I love my wife so much and was hoping when I retire (not too far off from) we would be able to get out and travel. But the future is not looking good. I don’t want to see this damn disease take her spirit. We’re both in our 50’s and still in love with one another. We have so much life to live together. I pray every day that my wife will become healthy again. The Lord has been good to us and we are blessed and thankful for that.
