Family Home Destroyed By Deceitful Contractor

Please help my family recover from this renovation disaster! Donate and share!My mom, brother, and sister-in-law are living through a horrible nightmare right now. My brother, who recently got married in June, hired a “contractor” to do a 2nd story addition and kitchen renovation to give him and his wife the space to start a family and begin their lives together. They also are providing my mom with a wonderful in-law suite. The work was supposed to be completed back on July 19th!

After the “contractor” finished all of the demo and framing back in June, he asked my brother for money to finish purchasing materials. Instead, the contractor abandoned the job taking my brother’s money and leaving them with no materials!! My brother has attempted to get this criminal to return his money but has been unsuccessful. Lawyers and detectives are involved and still no luck!

So since demo began in May, they have been living in that house without a kitchen. The 2nd floor was left without window or siding on the exterior and no insulation. The house was without heat so they were surviving by using a portable space heater.

All of the rough work done with electricity, plumbing, and HVAC needs to be redone. The entire 2nd floor was ran on 1 circuit, sink plumbing installed with no drains, bathrooms with no vents, huge holes in the walls, broken windows, screens and light fixtures, severed electrical wires, water damage from when the roof was poorly tarped and from when workers broke a water line. The list goes on and on.

My mom is on disability and the house is one big hazard and my sister-in-law has had to work from home in what is essentially a construction zone. My brother teaches during the day and at night and has been completely overwhelmed trying to pick up the pieces. What they really need right now are the funds to finish this job right so that they can move on with their lives.

To make matters worse, this contractor scammed my sister-in-law who wanted to renovate her parent’s home. My brother has used up his savings to finish his in-law’s home so that they could move in but finishing his house now will be really difficult.

They aren’t able to decorate for the holidays this year but I’m hoping that by Christmas they will have all of the help and resources that they need to get this job done so that we can all move on from this terrible experience. Any donation would mean the world to my family!
