Warwick School: Will & Ollie walk for Samaritans
Warwick School is organising this fundraiser on behalf of the Stratford-upon-Avon branch of the Samaritans.
The Samaritans are an incredible charity dedicated to reducing feelings of isolation and disconnection. They supply a safe place for an individual to talk at any given time in their own way without judgement or pressure. Depression and anxiety, a common condition experienced by young people, is one of their areas of expertise. One in seven men aged between 16 and 24 experience depression or anxiety each year which can lead to suicidal thoughts and the Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide. They are truly a unique service willing to aid those in need and where possible prevent crisis.
Two of our Warwick students, Ollie and Will, have set themselves a target of walking 150 miles of coastline from Lands' End to Hartland point in the space of seven days between 6th and 13th July to raise as much money as possible for the Samaritans. In addition, we will be holding a non-school uniform day on Friday 23rd June with all donations going to the Samaritans.
We would be grateful for anything you might be able to contribute as it will make an enormous difference to the work Stratford-upon-Avon Samaritans do and the lives of those who need their help.
