Our dear friend Berta Chitwood-Lemke’s life changed overnight after a terrible fall on July 3rd that resulted in a spinal cord injury. We are filled with hope and gratitude as we witness Berta’s powerful spirit and drive in the most important fight of her life.

Berta’s larger-than-life personality and robust laugh have been a source of light for so many and fostered deep friendships from Hall High School, Hendrix College, the VFW Post 9095, Kroger, Acxiom and others in Little Rock and Benton. During the first few weeks, it has been inspiring to see her communities and her family pull together to encourage and support her and each other.

Funding is needed for medical, living, and other related expenses (e.g., transportation/ equipment/ assistance). As Berta’s Hall High School friends of more than 40 years, we created this Go Fund Me to invite you all to lend your support. Your contributions will let her know how deeply she is loved and supported each day.
