Warrior Dakota

Tax deductible

Please help my daughter’s best friend Dakota! He was diagnosed with wet FIP. The vet said it is not a death sentence anymore, but the treatment is very expensive. The incredible ladies at FieldHaven have agreed to help Dakota but are in need of additional funding. If you could help with donations Dakota and I would be very grateful! Or just share this story! Anything will help!

Hello Friends and family

We are in urgent need of help for our amazing little man of the house.

It’s incredibly hard to watch him in pain, as he’s been with us for going on 6 years now in August. Dakota has been a huge part of our family. He has been the alarm clock in the morning when he knows it’s time to be fed, following my mother throughout the house as she’s getting ready for work because he knows her routine. He has been the best companion for my sisters’ through their stay-at-home school during the major wave of the pandemic.

For the last 6 years, he has always been the guardian angel that prances the door to greet the family as we come in. I’m gone a lot but when I come home, Dakota has always greeted me by laying on the clothes on my bedroom floor, to the point where I would leave them on purpose for him to sleep on them while I’m gone. He always seem to know when my sisters were going to leave for school, and would hop up in their laps so they felt compelled to stay home. Or the best little distraction from them doing their schoolwork.

He always found his favorite spot being on top or above us, if he couldn’t find a spot high enough, he’d sit against your face and sneeze on you occasionally. But now as he’s sick, he is no longer jumping to the highest peaks of the cat tower as he use to.. His walk is pained and his hind legs are widened, with his pancreas that is inflamed on the inside. He’s hardly eaten anything since Monday the 26th of July and his eyes aren’t sharp with watchfulness, but rather weak with the pain that is weighing on him inside.

It’s so hard to watch the same cat who use to come into the bathroom and scream at me while I’m doing my eyeliner or hair, hardly move from the spot he placed himself in. He just wants us to be there with him, purring on the vet table while still barely able to hold himself together, his pelt is falling out and his spine was far more defined than it use to be.

We just want our little man back to the strength we are use to before, so we can have him far longer than the 6 years we’ve had him so far.
