Warrior Alex

Our son Alex has been battling stage four neuroblastoma since March 2021. Alex relapsed in the brain in January 2022 and relapsed again in his left femur in June 2023 he was hospitalized for a hemothorax which was caused by a punctured lung from his lung biopsy. While getting treatment for that they found more cancer in new places. He was hospitalized in December during Christmas with a line infection and a blood infection. He started chemo again in March and in April during treatment he coded and he was gone for 2min before being revived. Then we stopped treatment and he was on DFMO an oral chemo. He then lost a lot of weight and was declining fast and was pooping and vomiting blood. Doctor said he had intestinal failure and gave him a couple weeks to live . He overcame that and was on TPN which helped bring his nutrition up. Then we made the decision to get a gtube placed and the surgery didn’t go well and he is still struggling to keep his formula down and continues to vomit daily not getting the nutrients he needs. We have to wait until October to have his GJ placed. We were in the ED last weekend getting fluids because he was severely dehydrated and on the 25th when leaving the hospital I hydroplaned and totaled our car. The insurance is only giving us 26,000 and we owe 35000 on vehicle. I am asking for help because Dad and I have been out of work and have been struggling financially for years more so now. I just don’t know how we are going to get by without a reliable vehicle and owing so much money.
