Warren Strain is a highly respected leader in his community.  He spent  years as a public servant with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and chose to continue serving by working with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.  Warren went on to run for Alderman in the City of Madison and was elected in 2014.  He has always been dedicated to serving his fellow man/woman/neighbor.  He is the truest form of a hometown hero with years of dedication to his community, helping friends, family and most importantly strangers.  He has been a servant to both his local community and the State community for years.

Warren and his family have now found themselves in need of support from the community that they have loved and supported selflessly for so long.  Warren suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke on December 23rd.  He was with his brother-in-law at the time who  immediately called 911 for help.  Warren was initially treated in Hattiesburg, MS and then transferred to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  He has been in a coma since the onset on December 23rd.  While Warren has not woken up or been able to communicate with his family, we know how hard he is fighting to get well and return to his loving wife, Sandy and their two children, Tiffany and Brandon. 

The current treatment for Warren is to continue to monitor his vital signs and neurological responses in ICU.  The doctors have said all we can do is wait for Warren to wake up and continue to pray.  The situation for Warren and his family is critical.  Any funds that can be raised will immediately go to his family to help pay bills at home and the hospital until Warren can get back to work.  The doctors are saying it will be a very long road to recovery.

Warren and his family need our help and support.  As a State employee, Warren has a limited number of days off with pay.  While our wounded hometown hero is working hard to get better and recover, he will need all the help he can get from us.
