Pennsylvania is COLD this time of year. We live in a very old mobile home that I got free 8 years ago. It was a safe place to land at the time because I have MS and was falling down the stairs at our old place all the time. Unfortunately, though, the electricity in this very old trailer has been dying out one room at a time. To rewire this trailer would be about 10 grand, and it’s not worth it. … Update… My daughter spoke with her boss at work and found out that a bunch of the guys that work with her are all electricians and construction guys even though they work in the machine shop at a truckstop. She was told that we can get the guys to work on our trailer. So I guess we’re gonna try to fix it.

So for the last year, the power to the whole trailer will shut off when we have the microwave running at the same time as the washing machine. I had hoped that we could get it figured out, but the beginning of December came and so did the first cold spell. The electric that used to feed our furnace died. I called Habitat for Humanity; they said to buy another trailer, this one is too far gone. We tried to get a loan, but our credit isn’t great. So, this is truly my last-ditch effort to try to get us out of this crappy old trailer and into one that has heat.

We have 2 little old dogs, a cat, and the 3 of us - me and my 2 adult kids. We can afford to pay our bills and would even try to pay back people who donate to this GoFundMe.
