The war on Ukraine is getting darker and scarier for my friend Makarenko Mykhailo (better known online as Master9chief), especially now that Russia is taking advantage of the bitter winter by targeting Kyiv's energy infrastructure. For the past month he's had to endure 20+ hour long power outages nearly every day, which means most days and nights are spent in a cold house with no heat or electricity. It's miserable, and taxing on the mental and physical health of him and his brother.
He wants to invest in an independent energy system that will allow his house to stay heated and functional even during blackouts, but given the financial situation in Ukraine this is unfeasible without going into debt on a loan. If we can give him and his family peace of mind, we can shine a light for him in these dark times. When converted into Ukranian hrynvias, $3200 will be enough to cover the power inverter, the batteries, and the cost of installation - if we can raise that much, then maybe that'll be enough to see him through to the end of the war and whatever lies beyond.
(Makarenko would prefer the middle option if possible)
All donations will be transferred to Makarenko via Paypal if (and hopefully when) the goal is met. If you cannot donate, please spread the word however you can. Thank you so much!
