Hi, my name is John. On January 16th, a cold, dreary Thursday, a malnourished stray dog was spotted on doorbell cameras and by people in their houses as she slowly walked ever so slowly around our neighborhood. One of our neighbors went out to look for her and, while doing so, called our local shelter to see if they could help her. It was going to be a very cold night, some 15 degrees below freezing. Unfortunately, the shelter was full, and with herself having her own dogs, there was no way she could keep her for the night. Thankfully, other neighbors were able to jump in and eventually get her inside a warm house.

The next day, she was checked out by a vet and determined there was no microchip implanted. After calling some rescues and striking out again, a neighbor knew of a wonderful family that would love to take care of her and nurse her back to health. Since she was checked out by a vet, they felt she would fit right in with their boys and their own dog.

Monday, January 20th, they woke up to a surprise as Bella (the name she was given by the young boys) was making strange noises, and when they looked, lo and behold, she was having puppies, eventually 5 in all. The plans have changed!
