Most of you have been on this journey with me for years, but for those who don't know, a group of my wonderful family members, friends, and kind strangers raised thousands of dollars nearly four years ago so that hundreds of Malawian kids would have the opportunity to attend high school. We rehabbed an existing school structure that had closed; taking over the lease and the education.
Though the school is still operational, there are some significant needs that need addressed. There is no government funding. No wealthy benefactors. Just me, you, and the hardworking teachers in Malawi who have already given generously.
Before I depart for the great African continent this May, I'm hoping to raise $5,000 for the following:
1. New Student Desks ($1700)
2. Classroom Repairs ($450)
3. Tuition Fund ($2600)
4. A "Little, Free Library" for the Community ($250)
We want to continue welcoming all students, regardless of their ability to pay any tuition fees, but to do that (and ensure teachers receive salaries), we must rely on a donated tuition fund.
With your donation, of any amount, feel free to specify which project you would like to help support. Otherwise, it will go into the "general fund" for whatever is deemed the greatest need at the time.
As always, you have my undying thanks for your support of these wonderful kids and educators who work tirelessly to improve the life conditions of Malawians.
