Dillon is one of the Warhorse Ranch herd. He is a warrior himself who came to our ranch just over a year ago looking for a life that fit his adventure, purity, and enormous heart. He has touched, and changed so many lives here at Warhorse Ranch. Dillon is a sweet and gentle soul who's heart belongs to the west. He loves his Warhorse herd, both horse and human. He is always one that will wrap his head around you if he senses you are sufferings. He is the heart of Warhorse. Earlier this week, Dillon showed signs of colic which can be deadly. With the swift work of staff and local veterinarians, Dillon received care that we thought had him on the right track. On Monday he showed signs that he was getting worse, and by Tuesday morning after staff being up with him all night, the decision was made for Dillon to head 3 hours away to the equine hospital in Glenwood Springs, CO. Since Tuesday he has been up and down with his recovery, but the most recent update suggests he may be showing signs of liver disease. Dillon will undergo a biopsy soon to determine the next steps for his treatment. As Dillon has been such a healer to many of our clients here at Warhorse Ranch, it is time for us to help with his healing. As a non-profit we are limited in our funding and would appreciate any help we can get with Dillon's veterinary bills. The initial quote is between 5k-7k, but if surgery is needed, it will be well over 10k. Please consider donating through GoFundMe, Venmo (@WarhorseRanch), or through our website (www.warhorseranch.org). We appreciate any help. Dillon is an amazing therapy horse and we cannot fathom losing him.
Update: The Dr.s were unable to take the biopsy from Dillon's liver as his spleen and lungs were in the way. He has had rough nights the past two evenings. Dr.s are trying to figure out where the constant compaction is occuring as well as if the liver is causing the GI problems. Today they will do another ultrasound to seek out more answers. Please send positve thoughts and prayers for him to pull out of this!
