Hey folks, for those who don’t already know me, my name is Julie Ward and I am a 54 year old mother of four and nanna to two gorgeous grandbabies.
Just over two months ago, two days before my 54th birthday I was very unexpectedly diagnosed with Metatastic bowel cancer, with a 12 month prognosis if treatment doesn’t have any effect.
In two short months I have gone from working two jobs and renting my own place to having to move four hours to live with my daughter, sell and giveaway most of my possessions and find myself waiting to be able to gain a pension, all whilst undergoing a very traumatic first cycle of chemo.
It has been hard both mentally, physically and financially on myself and my children who have had to take much time off work to move myself and my belongings, organise my life, and care for me whilst I am unable to look after myself, drive etc.
I am hoping to be able to raise enough funds to pay for any costs that arise throughout my treatment so as not to be a burden to my family and if possible to go on a small vacation with my children and grandchildren, somewhere we can fish a lot and make lasting memories for them to cherish.
I know that there are a lot of people worse off than me in this world and I thank god it is happening to me rather than my children or grandchildren, but if you can spare anything towards my fund I would be most appreciative.
kind regards
Julie
