War Vet seeking funding for a Coding Boot Camp

Hack Reactor has extended to me and offer for the January 2nd Remote Immersive Program as an exceptional candidate.    I am a combat war veteran who has a service related disability.  However, through much effort my situation has improved greatly; I am now prepared to reenter the labor market.  During the past decade, while struggling with PTSD, I took traditional college courses and learned independently.  As a traditional college student, my grades included A’s for Introduction to Chemistry, Economics, Philosophy, Management, Calculus, and Organic Chemistry. As an autodidact most of my life, my belief was that independent learning suited my strengths greater than traditional schooling, especially with the challenges I faced. As an independent learner, I followed EDx courses from MIT in Calculus, Physics, Solid-State Chemistry,  and Introduction to Computer Science using Python. As a result, the breadth of my knowledge base increased. The courses strengthened my ability to problem solve, think creatively using different perspectives, and learn new material quickly.  My belief is that interdisciplinary learning broadens the scope of ideas that will allow me to turn ideas into executable concepts and develop new technology.  Approximately four months ago, I possessed no coding knowledge. While looking for supportive Python videos to complement MIT’s Introduction to Computer Science using Python, I discovered coding bootcamps.  Further research unveiled that HackReactor was the superior choice compared to the competition.  If successful at securing funding, I will enter the January 2nd immersive knowing five programming languages, Python, Ruby,  JavaScript, HTML5 & CSS.

Update1:  Thank you all for the initial burst of support.  I managed to secure the enrollment deposit of $2,000.00.

Update2: Unfortunately, I was just informed that the Veteran Scholarship Program did not apply to remote cohorts, forcing me to rely on other methods of funding such as this one.

Update3: The payment plan that I thought had been approved was actually denied.  I am being told that the entire tuition must be paid within 12 months.  Waiting for a response to another proposal where I can pay a lower amount during the first 6 months and the remainder on the 6 months that follow.

Any help towards this goal would be greatly appreciated and I plan to pay it forward once I am in a stronger financial situation when employed.

Warmest,
Hamilton
