Documentary about kratom & the law

WHY A DOCUMENTARY?
In recent months, there have been two arrests in AL and AR, in which regular citizens were arrested and charged with possession of kratom, an herbal botanical from the Far East that has been used for thousands of years. In most states kratom is legal but in a few, it is classified as a Schedule I substance. This is not only absurd - it is unjust. These two cases are rare, but they are a wake-up call to those in our country who use natural plant medicine for their personal use. This documentary will explore why this happened, how this continues to happen and how we need to put a stop to it. If you are a consumer of kratom or any other botanicals, or you want to support people advocating to protect our rights as American consumers, consider supporting this film.

THE MAIN OBJECTIVE
Raise awareness & motivate consumers of kratom and other botanicals to get involved in the fight to keep kratom legal.

THE STORY
The film tells the story of kratom injustices, opening with a short history of kratom, the presentation of the problem and the challenges throughout the years of meeting those challenges. The film will follow the stories of two of the recent stories of injustice and how to prevent this from happening again. The film will bring light to some of the details in these cases and aim to educate the viewer on how this is made possible in the U.S. "Botanical Action Network (BAN)" is the hero of the story, as the organization that is fighting for these silenced voices. The conclusion is an invitation of those watching to be a part of the change.
