Building a career in the arts is never easy, but for young Cambodian women, the challenges are even greater. In the past, NCA's NY&KHUN relied on paid performances and international grants, but both have dried up due to cultural shifts and changing donor priorities. Your support is crucial for them to continue creating, breaking barriers, and amplifying the voices of Cambodian women worldwide. Without funding, their future as leading contemporary Cambodian artists is at risk.
Your contribution ensures they can keep creating and sharing their art for at least the coming 18 months.
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
NY&KHUN mix dance, theatre, movement and visuals in their storytelling to blend the indefinable with a harsh reality. As artists in Cambodia, NY&KHUN face constant barriers—limited funding, few or no platforms, lack of colleagues and scarce opportunities for international exposure. They’ve been invited to showcase their groundbreaking work abroad, but without immediate financial support, they cannot take these vital steps.

- Create Bold Performances: Fund new works like Pilgrims, Sronoh/ SnowWhite and So Far
- Expand Access to Dance Education: Support their efforts to teach and inspire the next generation.
- Share Cambodian Art Worldwide: Help them bring their work to global stages and continue to gain recognition.
- Preserve Cultural Heritage by developing it.
- To keep working, they need to work more with international artists, find colleagues they so badly mis in their own country. Connecting with other artists in Southeast Asia and traveling for new ideas, will bring fresh energy to their work. They need to step out, share, and learn.
