Want to help me start all over?

Hi, my name is Caleb Erickson. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am 29 years old, and I have been living on my own since I was 18 years old, until very recently. I was at work trying my best, and I had a coworker run up to me and tell me, "Your house is on fire." Sure enough, I lost my house and all my things that I did not have on my person.

Your regular Joe Schmo would call up mom or dad; however, in my case, both are dead, and to add salt to the wound, my mother's ashes are the only thing I have to remember her by. She was in the house fire as well.

Why did I post this, and why am I asking for so much (5K)? Well, I know that between the 2-3 objects I used to own, the value was around 3K, and all of the other things the fire burned up probably easily add up to at least that much, not counting things I just can't get back, mementos from my dead family, all yearbooks for school, high school diplomas, etc. If I end up making my goal, I will be overjoyed; however, I appreciate every penny. I have never gotten a lot given to me, and I've always had to work for everything in life. For some reason, though, the thought of all the work needed to get back to just where I was is enough to scare the shit out of me, hence why I am buckling down and asking whomever may wish to help.
