My Beautiful, my Rock!
Hello, My name is John. I've been blessed to live in San Diego, Ca and learning to adapt to a new life! Blessed enough to have a family to help give me strength.
I am raising funds, as insurance won't cover it, for the Bioness L300 Mobility system(which assists with "Foot Drop" and other neurological issues for the legs). This system allows me to use my legs and help stop the consistent falls(see pics) due to a lack of motor function control. I might never regain the complete use/control of my legs, but this will surely improve the quality of life for my Family and me.
I was diagnosed in 2012 with RRMS(Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis). A condition that is blind to the naked eye but destructive. Essentially, my Immune System attacks my nerves, causing a short circuit with no signal going to the limb I am trying to move. I was devastated. Being the son of a former Medical Caregiver, I knew what the outcome could be. So for the next 7yrs I made it a point to be healthy! Loosing roughly 200LBS!!! Going from a size 52 to 33 pants and even 3XL to S/M shirts! Even went to Culinary School to learn more about the food I ate and how to help others on their weight loss journey. Sadly, tragedy rarely waits for anyone. I sustained a traumatic injury that led to Open Heart Surgery, followed by being diagnosed with a degenerative bone disease and other conditions that floored my Family and me. Sadly this is a norm in my life, as I have had medical issues and abuse since a young age, so this is nothing new.
What is new is that I now have a fiance and a kid I was helping to support, and without the use of my LEGS, I am essentially useless. With hands holding a walker or using a wheelchair, I can do little now to assist in the home, leaving it up to my fiance and kid(who is special needs herself). Let alone getting back into the workforce. Haven't worked since 11/2021, not only for the interim.
All I am looking for is the ability to be there for my Family(unlike my own sperm donor)! To help provide, to work, to walk my daughter down the aisle when she gets married, and to walk with my girl when we get married. So I again can feel like I can contribute and show my kid how to STAND back up when you fall! As I had done in the past!
Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you have a blessed day! If you do Donate, Know that your kind gesture is beyond appreciated and I can absolutely promise that this going towards recovery/rehab for a Nuerological Condition.
