Our mission is to resurrect a beloved original story: 'Want Some Style'. Blending the grit and charm of 90s indie films with a fresh, time-bending adventure about a young woman’s wild ride through life’s chaos—powered by a beat-up Volvo, a sharp sense of humor, and a touch of sci-fi magic.

If time travel was accessible to common folk, what do you think they would REALLY use it for? Forgot your passport at home and now you’re stranded at the airport? Just rewind! You were one away from a winning lottery number? Just rewind! Want Some Style tells the story of using time travel for a very mundane, very normal mistake. Sophie, a very broke college graduate, impulsively gives herself a far from professional haircut the day before a life changing job interview. She enlists the help of a former high school classmate and MIT dropout, Dale, to turn her car into a time machine. It’s up to Sophie and Dale to get her hairstyle back to normal. But of course, the laws of time travel aren’t easy to obey.
Here’s the thing: Want Some Style was already shot once. Over a chilly November weekend in 2022 with a $300 budget, a crew of freshly graduated college students, and a 2004 Volvo V70R named Mr. Bathtub, Want Some Style first came to fruition. But disaster struck when all the footage was mysteriously destroyed. Creator and actor Greer Durham was determined not to let this setback stop her from bringing this story to life.

You may be asking yourself: “Why this? Why now?”. This story has never EVER been told before. This is a totally unique, fresh, spunky take on the sci-fi genre. We are determined to make Want Some Style stand out from the tens of time travel movies. The whole production team fully believes this film could be HUGE and we wanna tell this kind of story before someone else does. But we can’t do it without your support.
15k is just the beginning of a much bigger goal. More funds would give us access to an elevated crew, more complicated shots to flesh out our vision, VFX, and of course shooting on film.

Want Some Style is both an homage to and a reimagining of our favorite genre-bending 90s low-budget independent movies that aimed to pull off big ideas with little resources and managed to find a grounding, comedic honesty in the strangest of circumstances. We love films like Bottle Rocket, Reality Bites, Clerks, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Welcome to the Dollhouse and SLC Punk for their visual playfulness and commitment to having their characters pull the audience into their world headfirst.
We also believe Want Some Style is something entirely its own. It’s an adventure movie where the stakes have never been lower but have never felt higher–and that’s due to the power of Sophie, a once-in-a-lifetime character who can’t help but let you into that chaotic little brain of hers. We want the audience to feel like they are right there in the action, in the passenger seat of Sophie’s beloved junker car, with no idea what’s about to happen and a feeling that maybe that’s a good thing.
In essence, Want Some Style is a somewhat Sisyphean tale, almost an anti coming-of-age story, about how even with the ability to defy all laws of time and reality, our fate, Sophie’s fate, is to make mistakes over and over again. And with the goal of shooting on gorgeous 16mm, we plan to make those mistakes look pretty damn awesome.
