WAND Fundraiser for the Shine Project

Women's Action Network Dorset (WAND) is a community voluntary organisation committed to celebrating and supporting women . In 2021, WAND has launched a new programme of online events to give women the opportunity to connect with others, including regular book clubs and listening circles - and our first virtual Dorset Women's Day.
As part of WAND's aim to support organisations for women, we are also asking that attendees to our online events make a small, voluntary donation to our chosen charity this year, The Shine Project. The Shine Project does some amazing work with teen girls across Dorset, designed to improve physical and mental health, self-esteem and confidence, and to encourage young women to believe that they are valuable. Their services offered include an 8-week course, and hosting larger health and wellbeing events - you can find out more on their website and on their lovely blog for us here.
Our recommended donation is £3 per person, per event attended - however, GoFundMe only allows a minimum donation of £5. This does not mean we will expect everyone to pay £5 per session – instead, we would like to invite those that can donate to do so in a flexible way!
Please feel free to make a single donation in recognition of attending several WAND events. For example, if you are planning to attend three Dorset Women’s Day workshops, you could consider making a single donation of £9 (i.e. £3 per session). All donations are made on an entirely voluntary basis – we recognise that not everyone will be in a position to donate right now, but everyone is welcome to attend WAND events regardless.
