As a community we are still reeling from the events of July 3rd when an extraordinarily fast-moving and destructive storm swept across Walworth County with little warning, bringing devastating winds that changed our community in a matter of minutes.

Towering trees that had stood for generations were uprooted. Homes, businesses, and vehicles were damaged. Roads became impassable. Thousands of residents lost power, with many families facing days without electricity during some of the hottest days of the year. Tragically, the lives of three children were lost as a result of the storm's sudden and overwhelming force.

For many throughout the Walworth County community, the days ahead will be filled with uncertainty, cleanup, insurance claims, unexpected expenses, and the difficult task of rebuilding what was lost.

In response, American Legion has established the Walworth County Disaster Relief Fund to provide direct support to individuals and families affected by the storm. Our Post is a a 501(c)(19) tax-exempt veterans organization.

100% funds raised will assist families throughout WALWORTH COUNTY with:

• Emergency supplies and immediate family needs
• Emergency tree removal
• Temporary lodging assistance
• Home repairs and expenses not full covered by insurance - or at all
• Support for vulnerable residents, seniors, veterans, and families facing hardship

For more than a century, The American Legion has answered the call to serve veterans, families, and communities during times of crisis. This fund is simply an extension of that mission.

When disaster strikes, communities do not ask who needs help — they simply show up. Today, Walworth County needs us to show up.

No donation is too small. Every contribution helps a neighbor begin the difficult process of recovery and reminds those affected that they are not facing this alone.

Please consider donating, sharing this effort, and keeping those impacted in your thoughts and prayers.

Together, we will recover.
Together, we will rebuild.
Because when one of us hurts, all of us show up.

For God and Country .

Please feel free to share .
