Waltrip Rambots Going to BEST state Competition!
Congratulations to the Waltrip Robotics team #1255, who competed in the BEST robotics competition on Saturday November 12, 2023. The Waltrip Robotics team also known as the Rambots placed 4th in the Head-to-Head Robotics Competition. The Rambots have advanced to Texas BEST Championship 2023 for the Head-to-Head competition!
In this year’s game, Incision Decision, the robots are tasked with completing surgical procedures on a playing field that included a heart, brain, and veins. BEST robots are built out of a kit made up of typical items you would find at a hardware store including plywood, sheet metal, PVC pipe, tape, nuts, and bolts. The robot is controlled and powered with VEX robotics components which are programed by the students for both autonomous task and remote control.
BEST stands for Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology and this is the 31st year for the BEST Robotics Competition.
Funds will provide transportation, housing, and food to our Rambots, teachers, and mentors.
This young team of students are learning excellent skills in the area of STEM, problem-solving, business, decision-making, and team-building. This team is lead by a team of above-and-beyond teachers and mentors passionate about providing the best for our kids. Please support our Rambots to help get them to the competition in Dallas, Texas on November 28th!
Thank you!
