Walters Family #Mattstrong

Heather and Matthew are dear friends of mine. I have known Matthew since middle school, and when he met Heather, we instantly became close friends as well. The Walters Family have become more like family to me throughout the years.

 

Heather's husband Matthew and the love of her life and Breña’s daddy, suffered a stroke on Monday, March 7th. By the grace of God, his supervisor felt compelled to stay late in the office that day, which he never does. Matthew made it down the hallway to flag him for help, and 911 was called just in time. They discovered a massive bleed on the left side of his brain, affecting the right side of his body-his dominant side. He is not able to move his right arm or leg.

 

Matthew needed to have a craniectomy (removal of the left portion of the skull) performed to save his life. Matthew is currently fighting in the NSICU in room 3404 at York Hospital. He’s had several complications pop up while he’s also trying to get his brain healed. Matthew continues to fight while they are trying to diminish the swelling of his brain.

 

Heather spends her time living in the hospital beside Matthew while also trying to be at home in the morning and night with Breña. The Walters are a strong Christian family and have been praying fervently to the Heavenly Father above to bless Matthew with his healing touch and grant him all the miracles possible. God is in control, and they are leaning strongly on our faith. WHEN they can get out of the NSICU, Matthew will recover in two rehabilitation facilities. In addition to rehab, Matthew has many surgeries and a long road to recovery ahead of him.

 

Matthew blessed Heather years ago with her dream of being a full-time mommy. He has been the sole provider for the family since then. His disability benefits will not near cover their living expenses and their potential medical expenses. They are usually not ones to ask for help, but I know that their needs will be great in the upcoming months.

 

The Walters family greatly appreciates all of the prayers they can receive for Matthew!!! He is such an amazing husband (the true love of Heather's life and her entire universe) and the most doting, loving father to their sweet miracle baby girl Breña. They genuinely appreciate any and all help provided! ❤️
