Hello everyone, I am devastated to be in this position today, but my parents and I need your help. The people that know me best, know how much my parents mean to me. Unfortunately, on their way to start a new chapter in California, they were stopped in an immigration checkpoint crossing el paso Texas into New mexico. They have been detained by border patrol since Sunday 6/18/2023, and are currently experiencing intimidation tactics to deport themselves to Chile voluntarily; from what has been their home for the past 24 years. I have had little to no contact with them these past few days. At this moment, they need an expert defense immigration lawyer to fight their case, help them be freed, and wait for their trial later. Their case will be a long, ongoing and costly battle, so I am pleading for your collaboration in raising the funds to cover this and provide them the best help. Unfortunately, without being able to work while detained, they will fall behind on bills and will also need to cover a bond to be released. Paola Jimenez and Walter Alegria have always been excellent community members and have always helped others with open arms. They deserve to stay in the United States close to their loved ones.
