Those of you who know Walt Stone are familiar with his warrior spirit. He’s a man who meets every challenge with poise and pride. You also know that he has had more than his fair share of challenges throughout his life. In 2019 he was the victim of a hit and run when an illegally plated car sped into him and left him in the street. This was immediately followed by a cancer diagnosis, for which he was treated as he recovered from the shattered leg the hit and run left him with. Walt got back on his feet and back to work in true warrior fashion…working two jobs to help replenish the reserve used up during his previous recovery, which had him out of work for 18 months.
Just a few weeks ago he was hit with yet another devastating blow. What began has an assumed neck strain 6several weeks ago progressed frighteningly fast to partial paralysis of his arms and legs (aka quadriplegia). An ER visit three weeks ago confirmed a devastating diagnosis…a tumor growing around his cervical spine. He was rushed to surgery to have it removed and once again is fighting to regain his ability to walk as well as the use of his hands. While he is determined to get back to work as he always has, it will take time for him to get there.
At a time when all of his energy should be focused on his health and well-being, the ability to keep paying bills and take care of his family will undoubtedly take from the energy needed for his recovery. Walt’s pride will not allow him to ask for help, but the last two hurdles he had to get over depleted any reserve he had and having this happen so soon after the last bout, he has not had the opportunity to recoup those losses, so we are asking whoever is able to donate to this fund and help him dedicate his time and energy to walking out of the hospital...and getting back to work. Donations will be used by Walt to pay his medical bills and keep his head above water why he continues this fight. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
