Walsh’s Warriors
Spende geschützt
Our names are Alyson Casey and Anna Cedrone. We are juniors at Nipmuc Regional High School and are proud to be raising awareness for a very worthy, community-oriented cause for our DECA project.
DECA is a competitive business club offered at the high school level that prepares emerging business students in multiple areas across a broad range of topics. This year we were given the opportunity to create an impactful DECA project that focuses on community awareness, bringing light and recognization to a meaningful cause. Our mission is to raise funds and awareness for the battle against pancreatic cancer. This year, an estimated 58,000 adults in the United States will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This sickness accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the US. We chose to do this project because sadly, a member of our community has been affected with this illness. Brigitte Walsh, the wife of Andrew Walsh, and the mother of Alex (16) and Nathan (14) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on August 15th, 2019. You always find her cheering on her two boys at their hockey, baseball, and basketball games. In the face of uncertainty amidst a once in a life time pandemic Mrs Walsh continues to remain a beacon of light and happiness. All donations will be divided between the Walsh Family and the Pancreatic Action Network Center. Your donation will help offset medical expenses and loss wages she has incurred while fighting this terrible disease. The other half will help further help research and find a cure for pancreatic cancer. All donations are appreciated.
