Help us create an outdoor socially distanced eating option for Walsh Middle School students!

Hello, my name is Shannon Horner and I'm the parent of a Walsh 7th grade student. Given the current situation with Covid I am working with a group of Walsh parents, and Mr Reyes' approval, to create an outdoor eating space for Walsh Middle School.

Our goal is to transform the grassy area outside the cafeteria doors into an outdoor seating café that can safely seat 50-80 students during lunch. This outdoor space will give Walsh students the ability to choose to eat in a safe and comfortable environment. The addition of outdoor seating will also allow for more social distancing to occur within the cafeteria.

The outdoor area will have a paved area with 10 (possibly more) 8-foot-long picnic tables. Each table will feature a table-top umbrella to provide some much-needed shade from the hot Texas sun.

The tables and umbrellas, and paving materials will be purchased and sent directly to Walsh  Middle School. We will also need volunteers to help set up the area, be on the look at for those signups!
