Walpole Fire at Home of Krista and Chris Trani

The extended Rose / Selig / Trani family is reaching out to ask for your support on behalf of our niece, Krista Rose Trani, her husband Chris Trani, and their 3 children James Selig, Rylie Trani and Savannah Selig.

Their Walpole home was devastated by an accidental fire on the afternoon of March 21st. All family members are safe - no one was home at the time to experience this traumatic event firsthand. Their two dogs were trapped but an off-duty state trooper and an off-duty firefighter from a neighboring town noticed the smoke as they drove by and stopped to investigate. They immediately called in the fire and then broke through a window into the house to rescue the dogs before the arrival of the Walpole Fire Department. As fast as the Walpole Fire Department responded, the fire had already spread throughout the attic destroying the bedrooms below before engulfing the exterior on the south side. The fire, smoke, and water damage is throughout the home and will require a complete renovation down to the studs. In this inflationary market that we have experienced over the last three years, the home is underinsured like many of ours likely are in these unprecedented times. Rebuilding will be a financial burden for this young family. They will likely be out of the home for a full year.

I cannot begin to list the random acts of kindness that we have witnessed in the last 24 hours but finding ourselves on the other side of a need as great as this is uncharted waters. We, therefore, are turning to our networks of family, friends, coworkers, neighbors and community acquaintances to help address this financial need.
