Support Wallie's Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Rachel and I am fundraising for my younger sister, Lauren, and her beloved boy, Wallie. Wallie just turned one, and has already survived so much. Born in Louisiana to a backyard breeder notorious for animal mistreatment, Wallie has overcome parvo and a severe burn that nearly led to a leg amputation. He's a true fighter, filled with nothing but love, always ready to cuddle up with anyone, big or small, even on his worst days.

Since Lauren rescued Wallie, they've faced his food allergies together, and had a solid management plan, until a sudden health scare on Sunday, February 11th, took us all by surprise. Wallie, who has never been one to skip a meal, suddenly lost all interest in eating and wouldn't even get out of bed. As of today, February 16th, he's hospitalized, undergoing extensive testing and care for unrelenting vomiting and diarrhea. The vets are exploring every possibility, from Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES) to Myasthenia gravis, but Wallie's diagnosis remains uncertain. We await biopsy results.

Despite his condition, Wallie remains a favorite among the vet staff, his gentle nature touching everyone he meets. Yet, the financial toll on Lauren, who is just 25 and caring for her first dog, is immense. The cost of just this recent round of care has reached $9,415, a heavy burden compounded by the high reluctance of pet insurance to reimburse any amount due to Wallie's past medical history of allergies and stomach upset. Lauren will surely face more bills once an official treatment plan has been determined.

Lauren has ALWAYS gone above and beyond for Wallie, ensuring he receives the best care possible, even as she works long hours caring for sick humans. She has already spent so much money on sweet Wallie. But the current situation is overwhelming, and that's why I'm reaching out for help. Any contribution towards Wallie's medical bills would mean the world to Lauren and Wallie. The funds will be used for covering a portion of his most recent medical bills. We are well aware of the dog rescue crisis and animal rescues that need funding too. This being said, simply sharing Wallie's story could make a huge difference.

Thank you for your support in any form. We so appreciate you joining us in changing Wallie's life and giving him the bright future he so deserves.

With sincere gratitude,
Rachel (Wallie's aunt)
