Wallasey has a beautiful coastline and a fantastic community.

We’re trying to give that community something new, and we need your help!

We're setting up Wallasey Coastal Rowing Club — a brand new, non-profit community-run club based at Wallasey Beach. Our aim is simple: to get local people of all ages and backgrounds out on the water, active, healthy, and part of something together.

There are lots of coastal rowing clubs around the UK, helping the community enjoy the water. But there is nothing in the north-west. We want Wallasey to be the first north-west club to be part of this growing sport.

The wonderful team at Wallasey Beach Club have welcomed us in and offered us use of their clubhouse and facilities. We have the enthusiasm, we have the volunteers, and we have the location. What we need now is a boat!

We've found one for a start. We just need the funds to buy it — along with a trailer and oars to get it on the water. It's the hardest part of starting any new club: that first push to get off the ground before the members and the funding can follow. Once we're up and running, we can apply for Sport England grants to help us grow. But we can't do any of that until we have a boat. We really need to raise about £5,000 to get us going.

You don't have to ever pick up an oar to make this happen. Your donation — whatever the size — helps build something lasting for this community. A club that will be here for years. A reason for people to get outside. A new part of what makes Wallasey a great place to live.
