Maybel is our beloved pet cow and forever pasture princess. She has humans who adore her, dog siblings who love to play, and a pretty spoiled life but cows are herd animals, and what we can’t give her is a cow companion of her very own. ❤️

We actually tried once before. We brought home a sweet little calf named Millie June to become Maybel’s sister, but tragically discovered she had a severe congenital heart defect and lost her the very next day.

After losing Millie, we knew we would eventually try again, but we also knew we wanted to be much more cautious about where Maybel’s next sibling comes from.

That’s where all of YOU came in.

After repeatedly hearing, “Start a GoFundMe! We want to help get Maybel a sibling!” we finally decided… okay, challenge accepted!

To be clear, we are fully capable of providing the ongoing feed, hay, pasture, shelter, veterinary care, and general spoiling another cow requires. This fundraiser is simply an OPTIONAL way for Maybel’s community to help with the significant upfront cost of purchasing a healthy calf from a reputable source and getting her settled into her forever home.

Why $2,500? Cattle prices in our area are HIGH, with calves often costing $1,500–$2,000+ depending on age, breed, size, and health. Our goal also allows for the initial veterinary care, vaccinations, transportation, feed, minerals, and other startup expenses that may come with bringing Maybel’s new sibling home. After what happened with Millie, finding the right calf from a reputable source is far more important to us than finding the cheapest one.

There is absolutely ZERO pressure to donate. Sharing the fundraiser, following our adventures, or simply cheering Maybel on helps too. ❤️

But if you do decide to contribute, just know you’re helping us add another forever member to the Wallace Family Farm. This won’t be an animal we eventually sell or send off. Maybel’s sibling will be another forever pasture princess who gets to grow old right alongside her.
