Having been involved in the educational system since 1996, I have long worked for positive change in Gadsden County. My family and I now feel that the time has come for me to seek elected office. I want to bring fresh ideas and positive solutions by running for Superintendent of Schools.
I have always been very concerned about education. I believe there are workable solutions available that will enhance the emotional and academic resilience of our students. I would like to see our students matriculate through school with advanced cognitive skills. They should be critical thinkers and problem solvers who are equipped with the skill set to work in groups, synthesize information and process the results in a variety of formats.
Our students should be well-rounded individuals with opportunities for internships, travel, speaking engagements, technology innovations, and Division I opportunities for academics and sports at the collegiate level. We have to get them ready to compete in this competitive society. We need to find ways to facilitate quality learning and demand ownership/accountability for student learning. For these reasons, I feel that I must step forward and offer the voters of Gadsden County a new fresh outlook on education from an instructional leader’s perspective.
In order to serve the people of Gadsden County, I must conduct an aggressive campaign. For this campaign to be successful, it will require a strong organized grassroots organization. With brochures, flyers, yard signs and advertisement, and the whole of Gadsden County to canvass, I cannot do it all alone. This is why I am turning to family and friends. I am inviting you all to get involved in my campaign to help me make a difference.
