Defying the Odds: Walk with Tim after Stroke

We invite you to join us in making a life-changing difference for Leonard “Tim” Timmerman, a remarkable 61-year-old man who has faced adversity with unwavering determination. Tim's life has been filled with many passions, from strolling the greens as a golf pro to strumming melodies on his guitar, sports and music have truly defined him.

Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn when Tim faced not one, not two, but three potentially fatal strokes; the latest being incredibly severe and life-altering, causing hemiparesis – a condition that has left him partially paralyzed on the left side of his body and has entirely shifted the trajectory of his life. Despite these challenges, Tim's spirit remains unwavering. His love for golf and guitar fuels his determination. Walking independently is his ultimate goal, and despite doctors telling Tim he’d never walk again, he has managed to defy the odds. With the help of a cane, he can now take steps that were once thought impossible.

However, there's still a long journey ahead. Now, we're seeking your support in the next chapter of his story. The funds we raise from this campaign will facilitate Tim's extensive walking therapy, helping him to regain his balance, strengthen his legs, and maybe once again roam the golf greens that have always brought him joy. Your contributions will also cover highly specialized neuro physiotherapy to restore the dexterity in his left hand, giving him a chance to strum those guitar strings once again.
