Run or Walk Fundraiser

The months and weeks leading up to Christmas can be a difficult and stressful time for many, and particularly so during a pandemic. Charities, especially those that support mental health, need our help and our attention.
Doing The Best We Can is a centre that provides support and information to parents, guardians and those indirectly affected by mental health difficulties. Doing The Best We Can was set up five years ago by Cari and Cliodhna, both of whom have children who have been through 'the system' in Ireland. Cari and Cliodhna immediately became aware of the difficulties that face parents and guardians with regard to accessing information and services with support for those suffering with mental health difficulties. Mayra House is a 'parents hub' that has recently been opened up in Raheny, and it is a safe and welcoming place for parents and guardians to meet up for support and information. Services provided focus on the parents' understanding of their child's diagnosis, who to contact for medical support, and peer support so that the parents do not feel alone.
We will be running or walking in the month of December to raise money for Doing The Best We Can. Our aim is to raise €1 for every kilometre we run or walk from December 1st- January 1st. With the help of your donations, Doing The Best We Can will create a 'Wall of Hope' in the garden of Mayra House. This wall will give people an opportunity to remember those who have lost their lives from suicide, or to simply pass on a message of hope to others. Members of the community will be encouraged to place a ribbon on the 'Wall of Hope', remembering loved ones who have died from suicide. With the support of this fundraiser, we hope to raise as much as possible to achieve this goal for Doing The Best We Can.
Please check out their website https://www.doingthebestwecan.ie/ or their Instagram: doingthebestwecan_ for more information about the amazing work Cari, Cliodhna, Abigail and Hannah do.
We would greatly appreciate any support you can give us and your contribution will make an impact! Thank you for your support.
