Walking With Purpose
Donation protected
2 years ago, I was presented with the biggest challenge of my life, I was diagnosed with a life changing, degenerative condition called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).
My life was changed in a moment.
Now I am taking on the biggest voluntary challenge of my life and hoping to change the lives of others.
from April to May next year (2026) I will be completing the Camino de Santiago (Route Frances), on foot. A walk of nearly 500 miles, in 34 stages over 42 days.
I have completed many long distance walks over the last 10 years or so and this has always been an aspiration, however, since my diagnosis I never thought it would become a reality, and honestly this may be my last chance to achieve this dream.
As a Job I work for the homeless team for a Local Authority, and they are kindly supporting me in my endeavours, having been homeless myself, it allows me to give something back, by helping people who are in a position I am familiar with.
For these reasons the funds I raise will be evenly split between the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust, who do amazing work raising the profile of a little known condition, and Shelter, who are the leading UK homelessness charity.
I hope you will follow my journey, and help me make a difference.
